Hi :)
Soooooooo.... Today we're not doing a lot because we missed our ride to Safe Haven but that just means a three day weekend! This afternoon we'll be going to CHO training for a couple hours and possibly going to the star market. Pretty chill!
Yesterday we had an awesome day with the kids! Our bible lesson was on different ways to love god including trust, thankfulness, and obedience. We did a skit with them on Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego explaining the importance of obedience... They had lots of fun and really got into it! Once school was out we played games with the kids until another team came to host a good-bye party. They brought three different kinds of fruit and some buns and juice. Some of the kids from the states sent money and quilts for the kids at Safe Haven which they all loved! We wish you could be here to get to know the kids because they're all so sweet! and adorable! and precious! and funny! and... the list goes on... They have been drawing pictures in school and some of them gave us their drawings... We decided they are better artists than we are :P Both the kids and we are frustrated with the language barrier. They are all patient and try so hard to communicate but in the end we resort with holding hands or hugging :D
Monday we are going to begin our English lessons with the youth pastor and two others. Prayers would be greatly appreciated!
Love you all!
Our next two months will involve life changing experiences, as we will become involved in changing the lives of Cambodian children. In Poipet, we will be teaching English, illustrating Bible lessons, playing with the children and overall, demonstrating the love of God. We are both so excited for this opportunity to be God's hands and feet. We appreciate all your prayers and we'll try to update as much as possible!

A Wonderful Wednesday
Hello everyone!
Today was fun! We did our usual morning routine: devotions, breakfast, and drive to safe haven. We've gotten mixed messages regarding our daily routines, which has led to much confusion. This is what we think our routine is....going to Safe Haven at 9:30ish every morning and teaching bible to the grade one class for 45 minutes, then going back to CHO around 11 for lunch. We leave again at 1:30 for S.H. and teach the same lesson two more times ~ to the grade 2 and grade 3/4 classes. After all the classes are finished, we play games with the children for about an hour. We were asked by Chomono if the two of us could begin teaching English lessons to the new youth leader for CHO. We're pretty excited but we don't know who he is yet :S... The plan is that we teach him for an hour a day. So that's what the proposed routine is!
Aside from that... we fell in love... NBD. :)
till next time...

Beautiful Beginnings :)
S'sadai! (hello)
The past two days we've actually accomplished something! yay! Yesterday we went to Safe Haven for the first time this trip and introduced ourselves to the kids. We had a tour of the property which has developed a lot since last year. Aside from visiting Safe Haven, our day was pretty normal-- going to CHO for meals and visiting. It rained for the first time! It was great. It poured. We walked. :D It was good.
Today was more exciting. We went to devotions in the morning then breakfast as usual. But! We were told that we could teach bible today. And we did! A group of us went to Safe Haven and we taught our first bible lesson to the older kids ( Gr. 3&4, ages 10-15). It was a little rough to begin with.... due to lack of communication... and preparation.... The second class went well though! Still needs a little work :P When all else fails... There's always games! We played Ninja which most of them remembered and British Bull Dog. The kids get out of school at three and today we got to play with them after school until five. We mostly made thread bracelets and discovered how patient the kids are and can't wait to get to know them more! Already dreading lee hai (good-bye).

Rest and Relaxation
Since arriving in Poipet, we have done pretty much nothing. We got here on Friday the 24th at around 4ish. We went to CHO (Cambodia Hope Organization - the organization we'll be working with) for dinner and Aryn got to meet some old friends. Since then, we've pretty much hung out at the hotel and eaten food. This morning we went to church at CHO and met some people from Switzerland and the UK. They will also be working at Safe Haven, which is where we will be teaching English and Bible lessons. The church service was fantastic! We got everything from vowels to consonants out of it...but no words! We're looking forward to this week with the kids! 'Till next time!

Isaiah 58:10
"If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday."
